New training course will boost fundraising for conservation in Southeast Asia

Launched in partnership between ASAP and Tropical Biology Association, a newly launched Project Design and Fundraising training will drive greater funds for the conservation of threatened Southeast Asian species.
Southeast Asia is home to some of the most biodiverse ecosystems on the planet, yet it is also one of the regions most heavily impacted by environmental degradation, habitat loss, and species extinction. Local conservation organisations play a crucial role in protecting this rich biodiversity. However, many of these organisations face significant challenges in securing sustainable funding and designing impactful conservation projects. Limited resources, combined with a lack of available training in essential topics, have hindered their ability to effectively address the pressing conservation issues in the region.
This is why ASAP has teamed up with Tropical Biology Association to design this dedicated training course: Project Design and Fundraising.

This training will address two key topics that are central to achieving conservation success:
Project design: Participants will learn how to set up projects that address the root cause of conservation problems, including techniques for measuring and monitoring impacts
Fundraising: The course will guide organisations in developing their fundraising principles, setting a fundraising strategy and craft winning proposals.
Running between November 2024 and March 2025, the training will be a mixture of self-paced online learning, interactive zoom sessions with the trainers, and tasks with personalised feedback. There will also be the opportunity for direct one-to-one coaching, providing participants with tailored support to refine their project designs and fundraising strategies.
