Producing a 5-year roadmap for the conservation of Javan Blue Flycatcher in Central Java

Project aims

A small population of Javan Blue Flycatcher is at least stable thanks to a community run nest adoption and protection programme in Central Java. However, external funders or donors, that are keen to support the programme, do not always know where best to put their resources. A roadmap or strategy is required to help ensure that funding needs are communicated as effectively as possible, helping to ensure the sustainability of the nest adoption programme.

Results

A five-year conservation roadmap for the flycatcher has been produced. The process involved multiple rounds of multi-stakeholder meetings and discussions. The final document is Bahasa with a one-page summary in English. Key to implementing the roadmap is providing adequate resourcing and support to the community group, KTH Wanapaski.

In addition to the roadmap, training and support was provided to strengthen the organisational structure and foundations of KTH Wanapaski
