Saola Foundation for Annamite Mountain Conservation

Mission statement

Our long-term vision is to deliver strategic, lasting improvement in biodiversity conservation of the Annamite Mountains by establishing an elite Lao-led biodiversity research and conservation team. Our state-of-the-art research and conservation team will be deployed initially, as proof of concept, to detect, monitor and help save the Saola. Through the establishment of a permanent research and conservation team, our program will dramatically enhance future conservation in the Annamite Mountains, while bringing economic benefits and employment opportunities for ethnic groups in the Annamites, and for an emerging generation of talented Lao conservationists and field researchers.
