About Us

Since 2007, the UP Mountaineers have been helping with the rehabilitation and protection of the Ipo Watershed. The organization adopted several hectares of land and spearheaded its recovery processes. Regular activities include tree planting, nurturing and tagging, as well as local environmental education, stakeholder collaboration, and digital campaigning.

Last 2019, the organization also launched the Sierra Madre Nature Trail project with the hope of linking the Sierra Madre mountain trails from Mauban in Quezon to Sta. Ana in Cagayan. The multi-year project aims, not only to establish and map the longest thru-hike destination in the country, but to help in the conservation of Sierra Madre and the protection of its biodiversity and indigenous peoples. Approaches include comprehensive community mapping, capacity-building workshops, local trail research, and conservation networking.
