About

Myanmar Biodiversity Fund (MBF) is Myanmar's first independent Conservation Trust Fund which was registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee (not-for-profit company) at the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration in 2019. MBF’s main goal is to serve as the Conservation Trust Fund to leverage people’s stewardship for biodiversity and ensure sustainable development. MBF will strengthen the connection between people, businesses and biodiversity to maintain biodiversity integrity.

About Us

MBF’s main activities are:

  • Initiating sustainable financing mechanism for site-based conservation
  • Community based natural resource managements including Inshore Fisheries Co-management, Freshwater Fisheries Co-management, Community Forests and Community Protected Areas
  • Community led wildlife monitoring
  • Community led monitoring on threats to natural resources and biodiversity
  • Community led human and wildlife conflict mitigation
  • Women led small and medium business development
  • Community based ecotourism development
  • Conservation volunteer program to sensitize youths’ interest in biodiversity conservation
  • Conservation education and awareness campaigns
  • Capacity building to communities and partners
  • Knowledge and information sharing
