Mission statement
'The Research Center for Elephant Conservation and Biodiversity Forest (PKGB) at Syiah Kuala University, established on May 22, 2018, focuses on conserving elephants and biodiversity in Aceh. With a mission to safeguard endangered species through enhanced research and biodiversity resource management, PKGB aims to contribute to Aceh's development. The center emphasizes interdisciplinary education in fields such as biodiversity, conservation, animal and plant ecology, veterinary medicine, agriculture, social sciences, and education. Additionally, it strives for sustainable forest conservation, mitigating human-wildlife conflicts, and empowering local communities for economic sustainability. PKGB envisions being an innovative and leading research center in Southeast Asia, promoting education, research, and community service. The goals include achieving quality research, fostering self-reliant and qualified individuals, providing excellent stakeholder services, and serving as an accountable research center for regional, national, and international progress.
