About Us
Yayasan Kanopi Indonesia is a non-profit organization established by several in 2000. Notarial deed Number 10 March 2001, renewal of deed Number 18 March 2016.
The activities of the Yayasan Kanopi Indonesia include the conservation of biodiversity of flora and fauna, ecology-based research and efforts to utilize biodiversity that can be applied to communities and disseminate information on biodiversity.
Our Vision: Striving to realize an independent Indonesian society in protecting biodiversity wisely and socially justice.
Our Mission: Developing the Sustainable Use of Indonesia’s Biodiversity by Research, Education and Information Dissemination

What We Do
To achieve our mission, we identified four strategies including research and monitoring, integrated management, awareness and capacity building.
We use to work with local community nearest to area with the high biodiversity to conserve wildlife and the including threatened bird and other wildlife through build their local capacity in improving sustainable use of biodiversity, habitat protection and monitoring.
In 2016-2017 we have conducted Survey in some bird market in Yogyakarta and Central java which aims to monitor songbird trade especially for threatened species including Bali myna, Javan green magpie, Black winged myna, Rufus-fronted laughing thrush.
Currently we conduct conservation action regarding java pangolin and the habitat in Yogyakarta and Cilacap Central java through conducted survey and collecting information from local informant. In Jatimulyo Yogyakarta we are strengthening local community to implement local regulation in Jatimulyo Village (PERDES) about environment and wildlife protection including threatened bird and mammals Pangolin sp.
Where We Work
Over the past few years, we have implemented several research and conservation projects in mountain forest and mangrove area in Java and Sumatra island , we also have implemented several research in Wallacea including Lesser sunda, Sangihe Talaud and other areas. Yayasan Kanopi Indonesia hoping to expand its activities throughout the Indonesian region.
