Conservation Actions

It has been collected from Lambusango Reserve on Buton Island (Howard and Gillespie 2007). There is a need for strengthened enforcement and management to protect the habitat of this species (G. Gillespie pers. comm. 2019).

Location Information

This species appears to be endemic to the island of Buton, near to Sulawesi, Indonesia (Howard and Gillespie 2007). It occurs between 350-500 m asl (G. Gillespie pers. comm. 2019). The AOO is estimated to be less than 10 km2 for this species (G. Gillespie pers. comm. 2019).

Population Information

It is an extremely rare species. Its population is presumed to be declining (G. Gillespie pers. comm. 2019).

Threats

Deforestation due to slash and burn agriculture and asphalt mining are major threats to this species (G. Gillespie pers. comm. 2019).
