Location Information

This species is known only from Klasio Creek, which flows above ground for a few kilometres before disappearing in a subterranean outlet, presumably connected to the Fasin River, a tributary of the Kladuk River system in the south-western portion of the Birds Head Peninsula of West Papua Province, Indonesia (Nugraha et al. 2015, G.R. Allen pers. comm. 2019).

Population Information

This species was common at the type locality in 2007 and 2015, and the population trend is thought to be stable (Kadarusman pers. comm. 2019).

Threats

This species is threatened by oil palm plantations, burning of forest for small-scale plantations, and the invasive snakehead (Kadarusman pers. comm. 2019).
