It is not present in any protected areas. Research is needed to clarify whether this species is more widespread than presently known, and to determine the impact of both ongoing and potential threats.

Location Information

This species is only known from the type locality: a small karst outcrop near Thakhek Town in Khammouane Province, Lao PDR, at an elevation of 170 m (Luu et al. 2014).

Population Information

It seems to be an uncommon species, with little known about the population trends.

Threats

The known locality lies in close proximity to both a village and a road, and a concrete company is based nearby. Quarrying is already underway and is directly impacting the known locality (V. Luu pers. comm. 2018).
