Location Information

This species is known only from the Klahfot River, a tributary of the Kladuk River system in the south-western portion of the Birds Head Peninsula of West Papua Province, Indonesia (Nugraha et al. 2015, G.R. Allen pers. comm. 2019).

Population Information

This species was common at the type locality in 2007 and the population trend is considered stable (Kadarusman pers. comm. 2019).

Threats

There is an oil palm plantation within the distribution of this species. Introduced species (climbing perch and snakehead) are also threats (Kadarusman pers. comm. 2019).
